Patients who feel nervous or anxious about their dental procedures will benefit from dental general anesthesia. Dr. Jeff Weaver and his staff understand your concerns and wish to provide you with dental care in a safe, relaxed and comfortable environment, our office offer all levels of sedation dentistry, including general anesthesia.
How Safe Is General Anesthesia?
In Ontario, a special permit is required to administer intravenous medications. To qualify, our office had to provide evidence of advanced training in anesthesia and a site visit by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. The ability to handle emergency situations as well as having specific emergency medications and equipment is also mandatory. Dr. Jeff Weaver's office along with our Anesthetist, Dr. Gino Gizzarelli have met all of the criteria to perform complex anesthesia procedures and is committed to your well-being.
Who Requires Sleep Dentistry?
The use of sedative and general anesthetic drugs in our dental office may benefit most patients, particularly:
- patents who cannot tolerate local anesthesia
- patients with anxiety, fear or phobias about dental care
- patients with extensive treatment needs where fewer, longer appointments are required
- patients with physical, medical or emotional disabilities that compromise dental care
- patients with a severe gag reflex
